3 years ago I bought one of Bobs Heritage amps.I expected a typical transaction like I've had numerous times of buying and selling guitar gear, although when we spoke on the phone we realized we had grown up in the same area, would hang out in the same Hollywood clubs and saw Quiet Riot with Randy Rhodes many times, it was like I had met an old friend again, even though I never physically met Him. I realized at this point that Bob was a special guy, a rare human that is a rarity in this crazy world. When I received the amp he called to make sure I liked it and also included a copy of his book Rhodes Scholar, which I still use today with students. We continued to send the occasional note on the Heritage Owners club site and it was there, I found out about His passing. I am saddened, but I know Hes reaping the rewards he so justly earned with his life here on Earth and jamming with Randy! God Bless!

I didn’t know Bob for that long but it was very clear he had a passion for music, guitar, and coffee. Such a nice person and a pleasure to have known.

I knew Bob professionally over the last 25 years. Early on and for 10 years he was one of our original Cache Certified Experts and was an outstanding database architect and developer. He always represented the company well and was loyal, dedicated and a true professional. We were looking forward to Bob returning to the consulting and professional services field after retirement from the VA and we never lost touch over the years. We would see each other at conferences and would pick up right where we left off from our previous conversations and we'd always manage to talk a few times per year. Bob was someone I always looked forward to speaking with. He was never complacent and always wanted to know about the latest technology that was available within his profession. I'll miss our conversations and I will miss you my friend.

Robert LaFond Jr. God put him into my life in September 19th, 2015 and since that very moment he begun to be a bless into my life. A friend who always gave without asking anything in return. A friend with a heart of gold. A man who cares about his friends. One of few friends who cheers for my success and celebrated every time everything good happened to me. A wonderful man. Robert LaFond Jr, I praise The Lord for our friendship and I'm opening my heart now to tell you how important and precious was your friendship to me and how grateful I am to you for all the blessings, love, friendship, for caring about me, about my wife, my guitar playing and for giving the opportunity to this guy who came from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that had to build a life and a career from zero to be invited to play at the huge event CrossRhoads - Tribute to Randy Rhoads. Thank you so much for also bringing to my life amazing people who I can also dare to say are new family members. Words are not enough to say how thankful and how important you were to me. But also words are not enough to say how sad I am because you are not here anymore. God bless you my friend. Say HI to Randy! Thunderbird fly! I LOVE YOU!

Bob was a great friend. As a young man, he gave a job to me at Larry Larson Music. I was only 14, but he became a mentor at work, helped me get on Randy Rhoads schedule, took me to my first club gig and more. I was lucky enough to hook back up with him over the last few years. We traded guitars and memories. I’d love to have one more dinner with him Rock on, old friend.

Bob was just a wonderful human being and being a great guitarist made him an even better one. He would appreciate that. I met Bob and enjoyed his company at Lakeside Community Church in SCS, since I had the same interest, music, we got along good but the sense of humor was his greatest feature and we both appreciated the same. God bless his family and prayers for comfort and peace. He is now free to play forever in the presence of the Lord.

Memory, To Bobs family, friends and colleagues, I extend my sincere deepest condolences for your loss. Thank you for sharing him with the VA community. I met Bob a couple years ago while working at the VA. He was an amazing guy, blessed with many gifts. I appreciated and admired his being very technical and creative at the same time. He had an ability to see over the horizon (both literally and figuratively), past a problem to a solutions potential. He was super smart guy with a genuinely pleasant manner about him. He was, patient, humble and forthright, and knew what he needed to navigate his projects through their natural hurdles. Bob could quickly and creatively brainstorm solutions and task or ask others for input, in a comfortable way that empowered his colleagues, teammates and coworkers. His presence and compassion will be sorely missed. I am sure he is playing some sweet tunes in heaven - Rest in peace pal. Respectfully,

Bob was a great friend. I really enjoyed working with him on several projects. One of the most recent people I have ever known. And it was an honor to play music with him. The world lost a great example of what we all should be.
