Lil Charles, that's what we called you, the first grandsonnephew. What a joy. God had given us you for a short time; He just couldn't wait to take you back home. He knew what was best. Little did we know that morning that God would call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories to hold tight to for comfort. Even though we cannot see you, you will always be in our hearts. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Remember that we love and care about you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Into my heart's treasury you came. You were the first Grandson and my first Nephew. I enjoyed the times I babysitted, played and laughed with you. What a privilege and a blessing that God included me in His plans for you. That time with you was brief, but with a safe-kept memory of a lovely thing. I love you Lil Charles, but God love you best. You will be missed.

Charles has been a wonderful assistant for our office since 2003. He has exemplified the professional willingness to enhance services to the people of Wayne County, Michigan at every position he has held. His high work ethic and desire to attain greater personal acheivement levels were evident at the office and in his proudly acclaimed academic successes as he attended higher educational college classes. Charles death is a loss to our office and a memory to cherish.

We had barely met Charles last year when he was in a Detroit hospital. As we prayed together, along with Chuck and Cheri, we didn't yet know that Charles' Lord & Savior Jesus Christ had other plans for him... very soon! Never doubt, God's plans are always without error, even though so many of his family and friends would be left behind. All of Christ's followers will join Charles again in heaven one day, when we too are called. What a promise!! Meanwhile, we all will miss Charles, but with that perfect hope of being reunited at last!
