Obituary of Kathleen Mary Rye-Perkins

Kathleen (Kat) Rye-Perkins, (nee Burns), age, 59, lost her heroic struggle with cancer on June 9, 2010. Beloved wife of Ralph W. Loving mother of Jenny (Patrick) Rye-Coughlin, Tajzna Rye, Kristen (Joseph) Podulka (nee Perkins) and Erin (Timothy) Galvin (nee Perkins). Dear daughter of Nina and the late Donald Burns; grandmother of Casper, Riley, Gwen, Ryan and Emily. Sister of Dave (Christine) Burns, Mike (Cindy) Burns and Jeanne Sears (nee Burns). She is also survived by sisters-in law, Lori (Matthew) Marheineke (nee Perkins) and Janice (Harold) Allport (nee Perkins); brothers-in-law, Gary (Karen) Perkins and Ronald (Carol) Perkins; nieces and nephews, Shelly Nickles, Rachel Perkins, Lytasha Lewis, Megan Palo, Jessica Nielsen, Samantha Sears, Steven Sears, Nate Burns, Kelly Burns, Elija Burns, Troy Allport, Shawn Allport and Tim Allport. She was the daughter-in-law of L.D. and Doris Perkins. Kathleen was a partner at Trillium Teamologies. She was a free spirit who loved traveling, and also had an extreme passion for art, music and her garden. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 10:30am at Wujek-Calcaterra and Sons Funeral Home, 5488 Van Dyke, Shelby Twp., MI 48316. Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 4-8pm and Friday, June 18, 2010, from 4-8pm.
