Obituary of Patricia Ann Holmes

Patricia Ann Holmes died June 30, 2020, at her home in Fenton, MI, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born March 30, 1946 to John and Helen Squiers, of Detroit, MI. Pat attended Our Lady of Mercy High School in Detroit. Pat married David Holmes in 1965, in Birmingham, MI, where they lived until they moved to their home in Fenton. She and David were extremely dedicated to their family, adopting four children after losing three biological children due to genetic difficulties. They were blessed when they welcomed Bradley, Lee, Mike and Chris into their family. No matter what heart ache in life Pat was faced with, her smile said it all, it was contagious, and you knew you were loved by her completely. Pat is survived by her son Lee Holmes of Howell, MI. Her son Bradley (Andrea) Holmes of Chicago, IL. and son Michael Holmes, of Rockhill, S. Carolina. Her three grandchildren, Mila, Beck and Ana Holmes of Chicago. Sister, Karen Neiger of Luther, MI, Brother John (Laura) Squiers of Boyne City, MI, and brother Jim (Susan) Squiers of Savage, MN, along with many loving nieces, nephews and special friends. Pat was preceded in death by her loving parents, John & Helen Squiers, children Beth, Ian and Julie Holmes, her husband David Holmes and son Chris Holmes. Pat raised and groomed Cairn Terriers and Bouviers, for 40 years. She had an insatiable love for her animals and treated them as family. Along with the dogs Pat raised Shetland sheep, llamas and several horses on her farm in Fenton. Pat was very involved in the Cairn Terrier Club of Michigan and several other organizations, spending many days organizing dog shows and club meetings. Her business name was "Kirkshire Cairns". She was loved and will be missed by all of her faithful customers.
