Obituary of Bernadette Denise Cleveland
Bernadette Denise Cleveland, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 5th, 2020. She was 54 years old.
Born on June 8, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, Bern was the second daughter of Freddie and Annie Cleveland. Bern was a stellar product of the Detroit Public Schools system graduating from Pershing High School in 1984. She continued her education at Wayne County Community Colleges Medical Billing Specialist Program, where it was noted that she maintained outstanding attendance and excelled academically during the entire program. Bern exhibited her expertise in the medical billing field via positions at Jewish Vocational Services, McLaren Health, Karmanos Cancer Institute, and Henry Ford Health Systems. She was promoted to increasingly senior positions in recognition of her strong work ethic and dedication.
Bern enjoyed traveling, biking, listening to jazz, dancing, and spending time with valued friends and family. She was always the brightest smile in the room, as well as the biggest heart.
Bernadette will be loved and missed by surviving sisters Alisa and Cateena Cleveland; nephew Christopher Stokes; niece Jessica Wiley; great-niece Emersyn Stokes, trusted companion Gregory Michael and a host of family and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Freddie Cleveland and Annie Burton (Cleveland).
