Obituary of Evelyn Gertrude Allen
Obituary
"I am the ressurection and the life believeth in me, Though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whomsoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die"
Evelyn Gertrude Allen was born April 5, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to David and Gertrude Harris Early. She spent her childhood in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Eventually the family moved back to Detroit. She met and married Matt Allen Jr., Sept 18th, 1950. From that union two children were born, Lisa and Mark. They were married for almost 17yrs, and remained friends even after their divorce. She later met and fell in love with Jimmy Jones, and from that union Miguel was born.
She became a Jehovahs Witness in October 1974. She was very passionate about her faith, and spent many years doing "field service", when they shared their faith going door to door. She was faithful to her beliefs until her death.
She worked as a Sales Clerk at Hudson, and also as a overseer of the students at Fitzgerald Elementary School, both outside during recess and in the lunchroom. She loved being with the students, and even though she was a little in stature, she commanded respect from the students and they loved her for it.
She is survived by her children, Lisa(Abdou), Mark( Breanna), and Miguel, grandchildren, among whom were Carmen, Michael II, Bella, and Morris, great-grandchildren Theresa "Resa", and Elbert III "Tres", her sister, Meta Early, and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
"Mom, you raised us well, and earned your place of rest. We love you and will miss you."
