Obituary of Brian M DeFour

Brian M. DeFour, age 66, resident of Grosse Pointe Park, passed away after a brief struggle with lung and bone cancer on April 27th, 2012. Born February 15, 1946 to the late Morris and Margaret DeFour. He graduated from Austin Catholic Preparatory High School in 1964 as valedictorian, Georgetown University with an undergrad in history, and George Washington Law School as valedictorian. Brian served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. He served as attorney and counselor to many for over 40 years. Brian was employed by the VA at the time of his death. Brian will forever be remembered by his beloved wife Sandy DeFour; his devoted brothers Ralph DeFour (Jan) and the late Wayne (Debra)DeFour and his loving sister Maureen Neuhaus (Frank); three beloved daughters Michelle Withrow, Christine DeFour, Stephanie DeFour Thomas; Step children Kimberly Regalado and Ken (Laura) Regalado; treasured grandchildren the late Joshua Dean Withrow, Sara, Patrick and Daniel Withrow, Lindsay Fortin, Austin Thomas, Carter, Ethan and Eliot Regalado Hanson, Lindsay and Peyton Regalado, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Brian was a lifelong lover of books and an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at Tiger baseball games and camping around the great state of Michigan. He enjoyed traveling and his partial residency in Siesta Key, Florida. Brian touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark intelligence all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday May 4th, 2012 at 11am, with a 10am gathering to greet the family, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 15020 Hampton Rd., Grosse Pointe Park, MI. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Military Cemetery in Holly, Mi. with a private family ceremony. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe and Shorepointe Rehabilitation Center for the loving care of Brian and support of the family during this difficult time. Memorial contributions to honor Brian's life can be made payable to Sandy DeFour for coverage of medical expenses.
