Obituary of Richard J. Silagi

Richard J Silagi, 89, of Canton, Michigan, died on October 19, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Lilia "Lee" Silagi, children Susan Silagi, William Silagi and Robert (Barbara Schiele) Silagi, grandchildren Joseph and Kate Silagi, and many nieces and nephews. Richard had several careers including working as a draftsman, building custom homes, and managing a precision machine company. He lived a long and active life and enjoyed many pursuits. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed the outdoors and the camaraderie almost as much as actually catching fish. He also loved restoring antique cars and cherished the challenge of bringing old things back to life as well as bonding with fellow members of his Model A and Chevy car clubs. Richard had a positive outlook, a keen sense of humor, and a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He will be missed dearly and will always be in our hearts. The family held a small ceremony last week and will hold a larger, in-person memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers Richard requested that donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
