I am so sorry to hear of this. I was just thinking of Shirley and was going to send a Christmas card -- so I looked her up online to see if the address was still correct. We met her through Widowed Friends. I was a young widow. She encouraged me to help out and run the workshops at my local church -- the curriculum for grieving widows/widowers, Widowed Friends, that she had set up. Such a good person she was. And raved so about children and grandchildren. God bless you all. I will pray for all of you going forward. I only just found this notice -- today, and feel terrible that I didn't know. Peace. Hard to believe that 50 years of friendship and having one of the best neighbors one could have is now over. Shirley was always the first to come running when my wife, Nancy needed a helping hand or assistance with some problem. She will be truly missed.
