Obituary of Kerry Rende
On Sunday, January 3, 2021, Deanna Kerry Rende (Hedin), loving wife and mother, died peacefully at her home in Orchard Lake, MI after her long and arduous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kerry was 82 years old. Kerry was born on May 8, 1938, in Baltimore MD to Daniel Hedin and Myrtle Carlson. She attended Western Michigan University and University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. On August 25, 1962, she married Ronald Louis Rende. Together they raised three children, Jill, Ron, and Jeffrey. Kerry lived her life with a strength and passion that was admired by all. She loved gardening, spending hours with hands in the soil tending to her plants & flowers or simply pulling weeds. She also enjoyed exploring the outdoors with her grandchildren, introducing them to the splendors of nature. This is why she was lovingly known by her family as "Grandma Bug". She was a creative homemaker with a style that lit up a room. She enjoyed traveling around the world and was fortunate to visit many wonderful destinations. Kerry was a very caring and outgoing person with an amazing ability to create friendships wherever she was. But what Kerry enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family and close friends. Kerry was preceded in death by her father Daniel, mother Myrtle and brother Clayton. She is survived by her husband Ron, daughter Jill, sons Ron (Rachel) and Jeff (Kristen) and her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, Dominic, Katelyn, David, and Morgan. A memorial celebration of Kerrys life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or Angela Hospice (angelahospice.org) in Kerrys memory.
