Obituary of Edward Joseph Rizzo
Edward Joseph Rizzo died on January 21, 2021. He was born in White Plains, NY on June 9, 1941 to Russell Rizzo and Elizabeth Reed Rizzo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sherri Lyon Rizzo. He is survived by his three children Mary Rizzo of Pinckney, MI, Todd Rizzo(Andrea VanDenBergh) of Belleville, Mi, and Natalie Rizzo Piccotti(Joseph Piccotti) of San Diego, CA. He had four grandchildren, Alexander, Aaron, Adriana, and Addison. He is survived by sisters Gladys Bernabei of San Diego, Ca. and Elizabeth Tracy of South Carolina, and brothers Richard Rizzo (Karen Montross) of Granville, NY and Michael Rizzo (Carol Skelton) of Granville, NY, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by son Michael Hodge Rizzo, brothers Salvatore Rizzo and Russell Rizzo and sister Barbara Rizzo, and ex-wife Tamara Pabst Gerber. Edward was retired from Bell & Howell in Ann Arbor, MI., and also retired from the State of Michigan where he worked 30 years in the Departments of Corrections, Mental Health, Social Services and Natural Resources. He served in the United States Air Force for 5 years and the Reserves for 3 years. Over 50 years he volunteered with fire departments in Hawthorne, NY, Whitmore Lake, MI and Unadilla Township (Gregory), MI. He also was with the Livingston County Arson Investigation Team for 10 years. He also volunteered more than 20 years with the Boy Scout troop in Whitmore Lake, an Handicap Enforcement Officer for the Livingston County Sheriff, Zoning Administrator for Unadilla Township, Zoning Enforcement Officer for Northfield Township and Unadilla Township, and as a park volunteer with the Army Corps of Engineers in Ennis, Texas.
