Anna became my friend in 1973. So many memories. She lived life fully. I'm at loss for words.

In the midst of my initial grief, I did not include in Anna's obit, so many thoughts about Anna that have been flooding over me since her passing. As a teenager Anna was 1 of the cool ones. Because of her & my sister Mary the younger kids were always able to play ball in the neighborhood because they were the best players. She also coached 1 of the intramural teams I was on. Her nick name was Anna Banana & that always makes me smile. Following her college graduation (HFCC) she found her niche in retail, starting with management training at KMart, eventually traveling and working in their corporate offices in New Jersey, while living on Staten Island. She eventually opened a restaurant in NY - Babette's. When she returned to MI she went back to retail and managed 1, then all 4 Kitchen Glamour stores where she merged her retail experience and her love of food & cooking. She especially loved arranging cooking demos with local, national & international chefs until they closed in 2011. The final leg of her career was at Costco, which she also loved, managing the Membership and Marketing and eventually the Photo dept at the Livonia store until she officially retired.

Dave & I had lots of great culinary and travel experiences w Anna and she engaged all my grandchildren & many others in lots of things, but especially cooking. She also lived with my parents for many years and took tender care of them which included, of course, special meals. She also loved classical music, Tchaikovsky especially, including the 1812 overture, Swan lake and his Piano Concerto #1. In her 1st 2 senior living homes she engaged fellow residents with a monthly music appreciation class. Anna was engaging, creative, fun, caring & so much more. I will miss Anna Banana dearly.

Anna was a beautiful person and co-worker, the news of her passing has saddened many of us here at Costco where she was a manager and friend. My condolences to her family and friends. God speed Anna, I and many others wish we could have seen you again.

We were saddened to hear of Anna's death. She was always so engaging in conversation, when we would see her at family gatherings, since the time we were teenagers. Anna was so kind to be asking of our families, and interested in the latest family news or accomplishment. May the angels greet her in Paradise, and may her sisters and brother find comfort in sweet memories as they grieve.
