Obituary of Patrick Hourigan

Hourigan, Patrick Age 62. Passed away suddenly on December 28, 2011. Loving son of Beverly and the late Joseph. Dear father of Monica. Grandfather of Katelyn. Beloved fianc of Rita Giordano. Dear brother of Michael (Elizabeth), Kathleen (Thomas) Megna, Timothy, Sue (Dan) Schiebille, Lauri (Robert) Schippert, Maureen (Joseph) Quattrocchi and Sharon (Craig) Boury. Uncle of Kelly Engelken, Bryan, Katie, Heather Thomas, Amber Michalik, Genie Culp, Kate Smith, Carrie, Joe Schiebille, Sara Fischer, Kyla Fischer, Jenn Shaw, Jess Schippert, Nicole Quattrocchi, Jake Quattrocchi, Samantha Boury and Colin Boury. Great uncle of Matty, Will, Ava Boury, Ella Michalik, David Engelken, Jack Culp and Hailey Shaw. Patrick also had a special place in his heart for Mike Giordano & Michelle Maresh and Dawn Pawlowski & Joe Kish and Julie Hourigan. He will be missed by many friends from Gilbert's Hardware and Coyote Station and especially his best friend, Gert. Pat was a fiercely loyal and kind man. His sarcastic smile and crazy laugh highlighted family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve where he wore the green reindeer antlers, even though he hated them so. He was an incredible caregiver to Rita's sister, the late Donna Covey. Pat was so very proud of his daughter, Monica and the woman and mother that she has become. His granddaughter, Katelyn was a huge source of pride. Rita was the love of Pat's life. His entire life changed when he met her. He was a better, happier man for loving her. "Mourn my death, but only for a short time, and then celebrate my life for the rest of time." Family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 until the time of the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 23401 East Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
