I remember Ms Conflitti. She was a teacher at Carleton in the 70s when I went there. She was a tough teacher but it always paid off in the end. She believed in pushing you to excellence. Great woman.❤

Ok, I'm really really late to write this but I remember her very fondly. She was a wonderful teacher (by far my all time favorite). I went to Carleton in the 60's. She encouraged creative writing and I imagined myself a great writer one day. I still remember when she would say Oh you deserve a gold star and would get out her stars, lick one and plant it on the forehead. I hope that knew how much the kids really loved her. She was a special special lady.

Miss Conflitti was one of those special teachers that her students loved. She was fun, understanding and made learning fun, but could be strict when needed. She was an asset to Carleton School.

Miss Conflitti was a dedicated educator that instilled my love of reading and creative writing. She always had wonderful bulletin boards and a happy classroom. I was able to renew old friendships with my eighth grade classmates of '63 and she was spoken of fondly.

I, too, remember Miss Conflitti as the epitome of what a teacher should be. Her after school Creative Writing classes were life-changing. My best memory was coming back to Carleton after graduating from college and being able to speak to her classroom about getting an education and having goals in life - all the things she instilled in me years before - and then going out to Kavan's with her for dinner!!!! She is the only person I allowed to call me Bobby well into my adult years. I will miss her greatly.

When putting together a reunion of June '63 Carleton grads, one question was who our favorite teacher was. The overwhelming favorite was Miss Conflitti (I was one of those voting for her). Ironic that she passed away on my birthday. I recall one day I yawned in class and she asked if I was bored. Unable to discern a rhetorical question at the time, I responded, Yes (it happened to be true but that was not a knock on her teaching). She suggested that I go to the principal's office to share that information, which, being taught to do what a teacher said, I did. The principal launched into a tirade about how I was blessed with such a great teacher and was out of my mind to be bored (or something to that effect). Duly chastened, I returned to class and reported what had happened. Miss Conflitti was aghast at how things spun out of control and apologized profusely, confirming what a classy person she was.

Most beloved teacher EVER! Remember @1958-60() we loved passing notes between she and Mr. Ignasiak. Loved creative writing after school class even more. She would periodically rearrange the room around just to create new perspective, and had a relaxed confident way about her. I was able to be in her homeroom for a few grades! Bless her heart and ability to convey to each student hisher own unique giftedness. For that I am forever grateful. I can picture her lounging under a tree engrossed in a good book......

Miss Conflitti was the best teacher any student could hope for in their early school years. She encouraged me to do my best and was a major reason I spent my career in the teaching field. All teachers should strive to be as caring and dedicated as Miss Conflitti.

Fifth grade homeroom, Carleton Elementary. Miss Conflitti turned it into a pivotal point in my life, showing possibilities beyond the ordinary. She gained the respect of my family for having the resilience to teach all six of the Van Der Maas kids. She was genuine, supportive and a heck of a lot of fun. God bless her.

Miss Conflitti was my favorite teacher....and I'm sure many other Carleton students will say the same. Her class was an adventure everyday. She taught creative writing after school and I loved that also. My mom remained friends with her. Miss C was always surprised and pleased when I'd tell her seen someone had mentioned Miss Conflitti on classmates.com.
