June 29, 2016Mom, I think of Dad and you everyday with a heavy heart. I tell Krista quite often how I wish both of you were still here. It's not near the same without you both. Mandy Lou passed away in March 2015 after some health problems. She lived a very nice life with us for over four years and lived a total of almost exactly 15 years, but we could tell always missed you. Our heart was broken after she died and we were not going to get another dog, but we adopted our Gem from a place in Birmingham as a puppy and she is a wonderful companion for us both. I really miss you both and hope to see you again. Love, Your Son, Dan

Mom, We remember you and your good deeds everyday. It doesn't seem possible you have been gone two years now. Mandy Lou is in good health. Krista does a great job caring for her and takes her for walks everyday as you used to do. They have become great pals, but nobody could possibly replace you. You are in our prayers everyday. We love Dad and you very much. Your Son

Here I am on this summer afternoon missing my Grammy oh so very much. I saw one of my greatest role models only two days before she had passed. During our visitation, we reminisced of old stories, discussed my then upcoming graduation and danced together to Frank Sinatra. I wrote a letter to her before I left so that she'd have something to read over and to know how much I truly love and admire her. As I was leaving her hospital room, she requested that I come back to her bed before I left. Grammy gave me huge kisses on both cheeks and mouthed I love you, beautiful and good luck with your finals! At first it was surreal since I've been away at school and haven't gotten to see her much. I miss so dearly our phone conversations and visits. Grammy's advice, strength and humor are things I will forever carry with me. Grammy, I love you as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean. All of my love, Heather Skye Colohan

Darling Vivian, There was never a time we crossed paths in our volunteer wk that we didn't share a laugh and a hug. She was an inspiration to me in the 18 yrs. I knew her. She was indeed a charter member of THE GREATEST GENERATION. What a privilege to have her in my life--what an example she set for us to follow. I'll need to feel that hug Viv. Love & Rest, Chris D.

My thoughts of Vivian Mautte are shaped by my knowledge of her son, Dan, truly a man of values and ablity. As one of his English teachers in Junior High School, I met a boy who was highly skilled and self diciplined, a young man of promise. Certainly, Dan's mom and dad gave a great gift to the world. How proud they must have been! Don Kevern

MOM, I miss you so very very much. Your courageous thumbs up gestures and attitude during the past two and half months were an inspiration to all of us, including your doctor and nurses who also really loved you. You are the real Trooper, the true 'Rock of Granite', strongest of all of us, including Dad, World War II combat veteran and Captain of the famous 1936 Fordham University powerhouse football team. My memory of you and all you did for our family will never fade from my thoughts. Your passing on to your heavenly reward was completely unexpected. I had just seen you 3 12 hours before and you were smiling, radiant, mischevious as always, beaming and a joy to be with. I pray and trust in God that He is taking good care of you along with Dad, Grammie, Aunt June, Aunt Veronica, Uncle Clet.and your many friends. God, but I miss you. Your Son, Dan
