Obituary of Steven R. Stahl
Steven R. Stahl, age 46, of Burlington, passed peacefully through the final stages of his life in the care of Oaklawn Hospice of Marshall and finally Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice in Battle Creek on Friday, March 4, 2011. Steven was born on March 12, 1964, in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up in Rochester Hills where his family made their home. After graduating from high school and machinist trade school, he was employed as a mechanical technician for Eaton Corporation in Southfield, Michigan, for many years. He later transferred into the facility maintenance department. After Eaton, he started his own successful handyman repair business. He eventually rebuilt his family’s house in Burlington completely from the ground up. After many years as best friends, he married Christine Owens in June 1998. The couple enjoyed a loving, supportive partnership for more than 20 years. Steven was a hard worker and a genuine friend to many. He was generous with his time and often donated his skills to those in need. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. in Three Rivers, MI. He was a gentle man with a soft heart. He loved large dogs and adopted several rescued animals who became members of the family. Steven enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. He was most at home at a campfire and often enjoyed them in his backyard. He is survived by his wife Christine, sister Gail Kelly of Lupton, MI, and daughter Rebecca Ann Stahl, also of Michigan. There will be no memorial service, however memorial donations may be made to Oaklawn Hospital Hospice or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice. Please take a moment to sign Steven's guestbook or share a thought or memory with his family.
