Obituary of Wesley E. Peterson

Wesley E. Peterson, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011, at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI at the age of 59. Wesley was born on August 29, 1951, in Escanaba, MI.. At the age of 17, he went to work for Big Boy Restaurants. Eventually becoming district supervisor for the Stein Brother's Big Boy. After working for Big Boy’s for 22 years, he bought the Drifters Restaurant in 1992. Then in 1999, he purchased the Buck Inn Restaurant. Wesley was a hard worker, who still found time to enjoy his family, especially his grandchildren. He was lifetime member of the Elks, the Eagles and Eskymo Fanclub. Not only did he like local football, but he was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. He thoroughly enjoyed this years Super Bowl, with his favorite team winning the big game. With all he enjoyed in his life, he was ready to leave his earthly being to be able to walk hand-in-hand with the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Candace; children, Phillip (Aimee) Peterson and Liza (Jerry) Plourde; siblings, Thomas Peterson of Panama City, FL, William (Karen) Peterson of Escanaba, MI; Mary Dorsey of Milwaukee, WI; and Lorraine (Richard) Peterson of Rapid River, MI; grandchildren Austin, Weston, Ty, and Phillip Jr. Peterson, Veronica Williams; and Jared Plourde. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henning and Grace Peterson; brother Henning Peterson, Jr.; sister, Ann Marie; and granddaughter, Kasey Peterson. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 6pm, at the New Life Assembly of God, 2005 8th Ave S., Escanaba, MI.
