Obituary of William Angus Sinclair
William Angus Sinclair, 85, died peacefully Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his home in Berkley, MI, surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Beverly (Bradley) Sinclair; his sons, William, James, Michael (Sara); daughter Caroline (James) Boggis; grandchildren James, Beverly, Anna, Kyla, and Sydney, and dog Sadie. William was the son William Sinclair and Marian Carmichael and was born and raised in the City of Detroit. After marriage to his wife Beverley he and his young family moved to Berkley in 1965 where he remained until his passing. Mr. Sinclair served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years during the Korean War, and worked his entire career with Detroit Edison as a Supervisor in the Meter Department before retiring in 1990. In retirement William went to school for accounting and conducted tax returns for numerous individuals and companies. He also had a passion for helping others and volunteered at Common Ground serving as a crisis operator. In later years he served as a primary caregiver for his wife Beverly who suffered a stroke at the age of 58. An avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, he would often attend ballgames with his family, and would spend countless hours telling stories about Hank Greenberg, Hal Newhouser, and Charlie Gehringer to name a few. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Woodlawn Church in Royal Oak, MI. (3620 Rochester Road, Royal Oak, MI 48073). The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30AM with a memorial service to begin at 11AM. A luncheon will take place at Woodlawn Church immediately following the end of the memorial service.
