Suddenly Rosemary just popped in my head so I looked up her obituary. She was my neighbor for 12 years and was like a grandma to me. I walked her dog, Meg, every day after school. I would sit in her living room and talk to her for hours. I never got to tell her I was pregnant before she passed. I named my daughter Charlotte Rose, after her. She touched my life at such a young age. I miss her.

Rosemary has been our neighbor from the start-12 years ago-and we will miss her; her house will always be Rosemary's house to us. We wil remember her for her determination, resiliency, and genuine caring and concern for others in spite of her very serious and lengthy health issues. She was always interested in hearing about our children and grandchildren and extremely complementary about the flowers we planted that she enjoyed from her kitchen window. I will always think of Rosemary when I put in my garden each year and hope she will continue to enjoy them from a higher place.

Mrs. Allen was my first and second grade teacher, from 1978-1980. She was my favorite teacher. She had a way of making her students feel safe and loved while in her classroom. I can still remember sitting in front of Mrs. Allen for storytime, and then being dismissed one by one according to what color shirt we had or what color our hair was. Her greatest trait was her smile and her wink, which she always used to greet us. Mrs. Allen was a wonderful role model and she will be missed.

Four of our six children were lucky enough to have Mrs. Allan for first grade at Taylor School. She gave them a great beginning. She and I became friends, too, and she and Mrs. Laing would come to hear me storytell in Walled Lake. God's comfort to you ! We loved her ...

Mrs. Allen was my first grade teacher! I remember having a hard time with homesickness in the first grade and was known to ask to go to the bathroom and instead, would sneak out the back door and try to walk home! Mrs. Allen caught me every time before I had even made it to the curb and instead of getting mad would put her arm around me and let me eat lunch with her in her teachers office. I will never forget her kindness and will always remember her as a special person in my life. I pray that her family is finding peace and comfort during this sad time knowing that through her gift of teaching, she touched so many lives for good. Love, Erin Day Griswold

I was just up in Traverse City with my husband and passed by the hospital where Mr. Allan was taked when he was up north with us,him and my dad were on one of their many walks and he had a heart attack. I was telling my husband about the whole family. Mrs. Allan was always great to all of us neighborhood kids. I will always remember loading up in her station wagon and going to Kensington Park. Our many trips to Algonac, and the numerous sleep overs as kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family....

Rosemary was our dear neighbor for 12 years. We were very saddened to learn of her death from our daughter while we were in Europe. We will always remember the encouragement that Rosemary gave our daughter throughout her troubled years as a teen and young adult. Her special gift was to always see the good in everyone. Despite her long illness, she never lost her enthusiasm for life. She touched our lives and many others. We will miss her.
