I got to meet and develop a very productive and meaningful relationship with Bob. We both worked and retired from Wayne County. He changed my life with his ideas, efforts, and extreme capabilities, and the brotherhood between us was one of the most precious possessions I've come across in my lifetime. I think about him and everyday I generally just look up to the heavens and say hey Bob. Friendship like we cultivated doesn't come along very much and I'm really just thankful for the whole way it went down. He's never too far away from me. To Mary Ann, Erin, Mom and Pops, and all the folks I got to meet thru Roberto as I liked to call him, go out my everlasting regards.Jerry Somers

In a beautiful blue lagoon on a clear day, a fine sailing-ship spreads its brilliant white canvas in a fresh morning breeze and sails out to the open sea. We watch him glide away magnificently through the deep blue and gradually see him grow smaller and smaller as he nears the horizon. Finally, where the sea and sky meet, he slips silently from sight; and someone near me says, There, he is gone Gone where Gone from sight-that is all. He is still as large in mast and hull and sail, still just as able to bear his load. And we can be sure that, just as we say, There, he is gone! another standing in a far away port looking upon the horizon says Look there he comes. Bob, you will be missed on our side and welcomed with open arms on the other side.Love you lots,Mary Pat

He was happy here and he will be happy there. My brother John will love to see him. The three of us did a lot together. St. Gemma's card party tournaments and somewhere else when it was over. He would even stop by just to visit, we are family. Love You All, Praying for you Mary Ann, Mel & Maureen & Family. Will see you soon.

Mary Ann and The Verardi Family,I am so sorry for the loss of Bob. He was such a good hearted person. I remember several times spending the night as a child with Cheryl and the Verardi family. Bobby was always good to us. He always made me feel like I was part of the family. Good memories Bob and the Verardi family that I will never forget. I hope this poem helps with your grief. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free;I took His hand when I heard him call;I turned my back and left it all.If parting has left a void; Then fill it with remembered joy.My life's been full, I savored much;Good friends, good times,a loved one's touch.A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.Lift up your hearts and share with me;God wanted me now, He set me free.God Bless With All my Love,Eileen Lowrey
