Obituary of Cecil George Flynn
Cecil George Flynn, of Lansing MI passed away surrounded by love on Friday May 17, 2013. He was a dedicated family man whose grace and ever present love was the foundation of his family. He was born April 9, 1920 in Morris MI to his loving parents Patrick and Dora Flynn. After serving his country as an Army Sergeant in the European Campaign during WWII, he quietly returned home and built his family and sign painting business in the "shop" with his partners Jim and Quinn. His spare time was spent with his family, coaching his sons in baseball, playing golf with his dear friend Husch and showering each new child in his family with his exceptional love.
Surviving is his wife Janet; his children Candy, Michael (Ginny), Dennis, Julie (Jack) and Nancy (Lynn); his step-children Gwen and Garth; his grandchildren Jon (Tracey), Mike (April), Patrick, Anna, Allison (Chris), Jane, Brian, Kerri, JT (Natalie), Megan (Yasmani), Brandyn, Ami (Marshall), Lindy (Josh) and Tarrin (Tyler); his great- grandchildren Ryan, Sophia, Claire, Josephine, Matthew, Mia, Jon, Gage, Dora, Abbie, Dallas, Bella, Gavin, Ashley, Alyssa, Amyia, Aliah, Amyla, Alejandro, Yasmani, Donovan, Bowen, Seth, Mariah, Tyler, Elizabeth, Everett, Gabriella and his newest great granddaughter who will join his family in September; his great-great grandchildren Lalivia and Jaevyn. All were blessed to call him husband, Dad, and his most favorite title, Grandpa. He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife Jane, his parents, his brothers Edward (Bea), Robert (Connie residing in Florida), Lewis (Edna), Leo (Lorraine), Clem (Betty), his baby sister, his sisters-in-law Lois (Jim) and Lola (John) and his daughter-in-law Lonnie.
Catholic services will be held at St. Casimir Parish. A visitation will be held at 6pm Thursday May 23 followed by the Prayer of the Rosary at 7pm. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Friday May 24 with a visitation being held one hour prior to the Mass. The family humbly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in memory of Cecil to Craft Care Home of Holt and Grace Hospice of Lansing.
