Obituary of Lois Lorraine Snowden
Lois Lorraine Snowden went to be with her Savior Saturday January 19, 2013 in Flint, Michigan. She was born to Frank and Vera (Richards) Coburn on November 27, 1922 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Lois grew up in Roanoke Rapids and graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and attended two years Catholic University School of Nursing, Washington D.C. Lois lived in North Carolina, Washington D.C., Oregon, Maine, Pennsylvania, New York, and Michigan. Lois worked for many years at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. Lois was active in each church she attended with Bible Study Groups, Prayer Teams, and Missionary Work. Lois loved sports, especially the Washington Redskins. When she retired and moved to Michigan she was active with the Detroit City Mission's and different Soup Kitchens. She did this every week until she was wheel-chair bound but continued to be a supporter of each group. Lois loved helping others and visiting those who needed a friend. During her life Lois enjoyed Embroidering and Cross-Stitch work along with Cross word and Search and Find puzzles.
Lois is preceded in death by her son Danny C. Ryan (1995) of Sunrise, Florida, and her husband Emerson G. Snowden Jr. (1999) of Novi, Michigan. Lois is remembered with much love by her daughters, Mrs. Veronica (Kenneth) Boisvert of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Mary David Benson of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Daughter in law Mrs. Danny (Karen) Ryan of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Lois is survived by her two sisters, Ms. Marilyn Coburn, of New Bern, North Carolina, Mrs. Linda Lore also of New Bern, North Carolina. Grandchildren Sunday Kay (Brian) Dwire, Michelle Danjae Layne, Erica (John) Penn, Christopher Benson, Daniel (Kelly) Ryan. Great grandchildren, Ryan Dwire, Christopher Esker, Cory and Sean Dwire, River Esker. Great great grandchildren, Carson and Savannah Ryan. Lois leaves her niece Mrs. Laura (Curt) Bloom of Pelham, Alabama and Mr. Thomas Coburn of Kernesrville, North Carolina. Her two great nieces Miss Chloe Bloom of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Miss Alexis Bloom of Pelham, Alabama. Lois leaves many friends in Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Oregon, Nevada, and North Carolina. Lois was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed!
