Obituary of Wanda Sylvia Schmid
The beloved Wanda Sylvia (Kicinski) Schmid of Centerline, at the age of 94, peacefully entered eternal life on Friday, April 22, 2016. Adoring wife of the late Carl E., loving mother of Carl A., who preceded her in death, she is survived by her sister Irene (Kicinski) Myjak, daughters Patricia (Chad) Virden and Sandra (Henry) Radcliffe. Dearest grandmother of 6: David (Shannon) Virden, Pamela Schmid, Brian (Kimla Jo) Virden, Christopher Virden, Faye Radcliffe and Ashley Radcliffe. She was also great-grandmother of 4: Elizabeth, Lilianna, Chase, and Jonathan with another great granddaughter on the way. Wanda was always willing to help others and actively served her community through volunteering at the VA Hospital by making lap blankets for disabled veterans. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Menge Post 6756, on Sherwood in Centerline. Wanda joined the Southeastern Michigan Ojibwa Indians where she participated in fund raisers and learned to speak the Indian language. She loved to sew, crochet, knit, garden, can fruits and vegetables and made jams of all kinds. Loved by many, she will be greatly missed! The family will hold a memorial service in honor of her later this summer.
