Obituary of Roy Albert Peterson
Peterson, Roy Albert Age 84. August 19, 2006. Teacher, retired Business Department Head of Cass Technical School, and music aficionado. He was born in Valley City, N. Dakota, where he received his Bachelor's Degree. After serving in the Infantry during World War II, he attended Wayne State University where he earned his Master of Education degree. He lived in Detroit until he retired in 1986. Then Troy, Michigan became his home until October 2005, when he joined the retirement community of Oakwood Common in Dearborn. Mr. Peterson's love of music was a major part of his life. He gave the Music Department of Cass Tech over 3, 000 classical CD's when he moved to Oakwood Common. The school has named his gift the Roy A. Peterson Collection. He is survived by his sister Ruth Sartell of St Cloud MN, her daughter Julee, and several like-minded friends who call themselves 'Roy's Group.' A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
