Your only treasures are those which you carry in your heart. Frank's love for his family and country, and his strong work ethic were his greatest treasures. He never compromised those values, which were so dear to his heart. His life was his message. We extend our love and friendship to his family, whom we embrace as part of ours, as well. We have all lost a great friend, but in our hearts we know you, Anne, Bob, Jill, Claire, Michael, Doug, Gail, and Brian, have suffered the greatest loss of all. The heart has its own memory and we hope that in Frank's memory you will discover the great legacy he has left you and find comfort. He loved you all. Passing time can never fade All the special memories made; Loved ones never really part For they live inside your heart. May you find comfort in your fondest memories. With love and sympathy, John, Kathy (Sistah), Jenny and Jeff

He also assisted my brother in major decisions to advance his position. My condolences to the Wilke family. Tony Marra (Franks older brother)

I met Frank only once, at your home, Gail, but he made a lasting impression. His physical presence and energy filled the room. It made me smile watching how joyfully and playfully he interacted with Gracie. I only know the stories, through Gail and the short autobiography on this site. He sounds like a man who lived a life that mattered, made a difference to a lot of people and will be missed. Holding the family close in prayer and sympathy Marilyn Dean

My deepest sympathy to your family for your great loss. Frank and I served together on the Oakland County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) for over 15 years. We also worked on several special projects and trade shows helping the Oakland County community understand the work of emergency planning in the community. Frank was tireless in his dedication to this work and will be missed by me and all that worked with him. My prayers for the family are for spiritual peace, understanding and the grace of GOD. May GOD bless you all. John Misaros

One week from today, at this very time, we will gather for a memorial tribute to this wonderful man, Frank Wilke, one of the most remarkable men who ever walked the face of this earth. Without his excellent mentoring, delivered with loving care and concern, I know my children and I would not be enjoying the wonderful life we now have. I can truly say, without any doubt, that Frank has been the single most inspirational man in my adult life. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his entire family. Take solace in knowing that Frank truly did make a difference in our world. I also look forward to our souls being united again in eternity. I would not begin to even try to explain just how this is done. Rather I place my faith and trust in our higher power, God, leaving these most intrinsic and difficult-for-human tasks to Him. This I do in much the same way, but of course on a different plane, as the way I left the more intrinsic and difficult tasks of the moldmaking industry to one of its finest.... the genius and love of Frank M Wilke. He will be missed.

My deepest sympaty to Anne and all of Frank's family. Frank was one of the original members of the Oakland County Local Emergency Planning Committee and was instrumental in developing the LEPC into what it is today. He was committed to chemical safety and keeping our first responders and the public save. Frank was the one who'd stop cops on the street to ask if they had hazmat info in their cars. He was active until he was forced to retired last year, then we still mailed him meeting notices so he'd know what we were doing. Staff at Oakland County Emergency Response and Preparedness loved Frank and miss him very much.

The Oakland County Local Emergency Planning Committee held a moment of silence for Frank Wilke at their August 17, 2006 meeting. Members shared their heartwarming memories of Frank especially for his concern for the emergency first responders in our community. Since the committee was formed in 1987, he assisted with planning, research and foot work. We will remember him for his kindness and years of service on the committee.

Dear Gail and Doug -- I am so sorry to hear about the quick passing of your father. It's unnerving when something so quickly happens. It reminds us to live in the moment and express our love to the people that mean the most to us. One thing to be joyful about is that he did not have to suffer. He's in a great place. All that doesn't necessarily take away the pain felt with him not being here on earth with you. May God bless you especially through these days of grieving the loss. Sincerely, Donna Budzinski
