Obituary of June Colleen DeGriselles
June Colleen Adams DeGriselles was born June 18, 1924, in Detroit. On July 3rd 1948 she married Donald DeGriselles, who died May 11, 2011. June passed away on March 21, 2016, leaving behind five children, Daniel,(Sharon)'Douglas (Mary), Diana, Duane, David, (Joyce), 15 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Both June and Donald received honorable discharges from military service, Don from the army, and June from the marines. She painted, drew, sketched in pencil and pen and ink. She was also a draftswoman in the service and in civilian life. She was an artist, but not just with pen, pencil, or palette. She wove a tapestry from the threads of her life that was beautiful and admired. What's more, she drew in threads from everyone who knew her, interweaving them with her own, continuing the grand tapestry started by her predecessors, which will continue on, and be added upon by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The threads she wove into it were many colored and mutli-textured, making the tapestry of her and our lives something wonderful that will endure forever. Her life has enriched our lives, and it will enrich the lives of generations to come. She died while residing at MaryCrest in Livonia. Cremation will occur immediately, per her wishes, with internment to follow. She will rest alongside Don at Great Lakes National Cemetery In Holly, Mi. following a military service.
