I am so very sorry for your loss. We need comfort in many areas of life. One of the greatest causes of grief is the loss of a loved one in death. God’s Word acknowledges that our heart can be “broken and crushed.†(Ps. 5117) God is certainly able to deal with this situation, for “he is healing the brokenhearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots.†(Ps. 1473) Even in severe situations, God can bring relief to a stricken heart if we pray to him in full faith and observe his commandments. 1 John 514, 15.

I did not know my cousin Patrick very well. A couple of family reunions are all the memories I have, but they are good. I have a family picture from the first one I went to when we were both very young, and it is worth a thousand words. My heart is with my family, and I wish I could be there.

My heart is full of words, but my mind cannot translate them well enough. Words are inadequate to convey what I feel. Patrick was a funny, active young man who loved many things in this life; his family, music, drawing to mention a very few. One of my favorite memories of him was when he was ~ 7, and was really into my Beastie Boys CD. His cousin Meg hated it. So when I would put it on for him he changed the lyrics in one song (and they worked perfectly!) to tease her. I have many, many, wonderful memories of him which shall be with me forever, as will my love for him. Love to you Pat, Paula, and Pamela.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had met Pat when I was a senior in high school in clay class. We sat next to each other every day, and he never failed to make me laugh with his quiet jokes. Our memory's are precious just like you. My tears are so confussed. I minute crying for our loss of you. Next tear laughing at the things we would do. We all had Indian names we gave ourselves at Thanksgiving. Yours was chief on an eagles wing. Lala was she who talks a lot. I explained how a chicken laid an egg one morning. I jumped around clucking. You said aunt Laurie don't ever show me that again. We laughed so hard we thought Pamela was going to pee her pants. You would come running into a room and drop into the splits. Your favorite food was sea food at that age. So I would cook some surf and turf for a treat when I could.
