Obituary of Madeleine K. Keller

Madeleine Katherine ("Maddie") Keller (nee Madeleine Rak) passed away peacefully in her home in Troy, Michigan, on March 14, 2016 at the age of 77. Maddie is survived by her husband Ken Keller, children Kathy and Mike, step children Marty, John, Greg, Therese, Bob and David.. Maddie was born on May 25, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan to Peter and Madeleine Rak. She graduated from St. Benedict's High School in 1956. In 1982 she married Ken Keller. Maddie worked for Borg Warner as a executive assistant and had many students as a dance instructor at Juliana's Dance Studio. Maddie was a beautiful dancer and skilled choreographer, performing in numerous productions in the Detroit area and loved square dancing with Ken. She was fond of classical music, was an avid reader of wide range of authors and thoroughly enjoyed shopping. Her family was very important to her, including among other things enjoying participating in the lives of her grandchildren Jamie, Dylan, Chase and Dakota, step grandchildren Jon, Devin, Leah, Kristin, Brennan, Alex, Abby and Kim and great grandchildren "Little" Madeleine, Austin and Miles. In spring and summer she would frequent the golf courses of southeastern Michigan and played the courses of Maui. She and her friends traveled the world. With Ken she would often visit the Smoky Mountains which held a special place in her heart. She will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, at 10 AM at St. Francis - St. Maximilian Church at 62811 New Haven Road, Ray, Michigan (just east of the junction of 29 Mile and North Avenue), with a reception to follow at the church. A visitation will be held at 9 AM prior to the memorial service. Father Christopher Talbot will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Maddie's life.
