My Dad, Alex Butkovich, was Daniel's roommate at Marycrest for many months. He was such a kind and intelligent man! I loved to hear him laugh especially when my Dad, Daniel, and I would watch America's Funniest Videos. We watched a lot of those shows plus most of the Tigers' games last summer. The other thing that made your Dad laugh so much was the Aflak duck commercials. Dan and my Dad were always looking out for each other and they would remind each other of things they should do. I always had sugar-free Lifesavers for your Dad, which he came to expect each evening. I really miss your father soooooooo much. My Dad is declining some and doesn't really know that Dan has died. I was praying for your Dad while he was in the hospital and kept hoping that he would be able to come back. I always thanked him for serving our country also. My Dad was in the Air Force and he and Dan shared some stories earlier last year when they were both a little more conversant. Your family is in my prayers. I will continue to miss him. Sincerely, Donna #734-546-5444.

Hello, I'm so sorry to hear of Daniel's passing. My family met Daniel when my dad (George) was in Mary Crest Nursing home in Feb-June, 2009. My dad had an amputation at 89 and was there for rehab. For awhile Daniel and my dad shared a room. Daniel was a true gentleman with a happy spirit, wonderful eyes and a laughing smile. I remember him usually with a textbook, watching movies (sometimes with his ladyfriend at his side), having a healthy appetite, and wanting to be outside on a sunny day. One of my dad's dining partners (Alex) I believe also at one time shared a room with Daniel. He spoke lovingly of his family and I truly am sorry for your loss. My mom and dad also want to express their sincere sorrow at this time of reflection. Daniel was really a great human being and he helped make my dad's stay at Mary Crest better. We always looked forward to seeing him when we visited. You and your family will be in our prayers as will Daniel. Sincerely, Diane Dorsch
