Obituary of John R. Telling
Telling, John R., age 83, died on Wednesday, September 3, 2003. Beloved husband of Florence for over 61 years. He is survived by sons Theodore 'Ted' and Lawrence 'Larry' and his wife Sally and foster daughter, Kinuko of Numazu City, Japan. Granddaughters Lisa, Heather, Jessica and Meagan also survive him and great-grandchildren Shawn, Michelle, Lorna Martin and Matilda. John R.'s siblings; Margaret Aileen Harold and Lucille; all octogenarians, survive him also. Preceeding him in death was granddaughter Holly.
John R. was an M.P. in the United States Army and served in the Philippines during WWII. He worked as a carpenter for Burton Brothers for more than 50 years. More recently Perry Party Rentals employed him. He was a willing volunteer for the Detroit Legal Secretaries Association and Michigan Association of Legal Secretaries.
A Memorial Service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Visitation will be Friday from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Leader Dogs for the Blind.
