Obituary of Michael Skutar, Jr

Michael Skutar Age 76, died August 11, 2009, of Detroit. Dearest father of Claudia (Sarah), Cindy (Jerry) and Kevin (Jill) Skutar, and Sheila (Scott) Laing. Grandfather of Kelsey, Jordan and Kylee Skutar. Brother of Donald (Jackie) Skutar. Preceded in death by parents Michael and Dorothy Skutar and sister Joan (Joe) Sims. Former husband and friend of Ursula Skutar. Devoted uncle to Kathleen (Michael) Pyszora, Patricia Sims (Bryan Sunisloe), Audrey (Thomas) DiFranco, Mark Sims and Kristi (Michael) Willaert. Mike lived a full life, bursting with adventures from his Army days to his retirement spent at archeology digs worldwide. Generous and curious, he was a renaissance man with a love of books and history. He saw the potential in others and helped them reach their dreams. He believed in daring great things and risking failure rather than never trying at all. He found great peace and sanctuary in the love of his children and family. Visitation on Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge. A memorial mass is scheduled for noon with a lunch to follow. Please share a memory by signing Michael's guestbook.
