Obituary of Ronald Edward Gobbel
Dundee, Ronald Edward of Dundee died Friday morning (October 25, 2002) in his home. He had suffered from cancer for the past 16 months and was in the company of his family when he quietly and peacefully passed at 10:40 AM.
Born September 29, 1953 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Edward Samuel and Mary Ann (Gennaro) Gobbel. He married Sharon A. Sita on August 19, 1972 in McKeesport.
Ron worked as a supervisor at the Ford Motor Co.’s Wayne Stamping Plant until retiring in January. A lifetime member of the McKeesport Sportsman’s Assoc., he also served as a longtime member and officer of the Monroe Rifle and Pistol Club. An Avid hunter and sportsman, he qualified as an NRA Expert Marksman at a very young age and continued as a precision shooter throughout his life. He enjoyed carpentry, working in his custom woodshop and spending time at his mountain cabin in Elk County, PA.
Surviving are his wife, three sons: Edward of Salt Lake City, Utah, Curtis of Dundee and Jeremy of Dundee; his father; a sister: Sharon (Lynn) Conley of White Oak, PA.; a brother: Dennis (Sue) of Spartansburg, PA., as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the family home on Tuesday, October 29th from 1:00 PM until 3 PM and from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM
