George was a hell of a guy. He always gave me a handshake that hurt just a little bit and talked about real things. Not so much with the small talk. He spoke about things that mattered and I loved him for it. My love to the Kalman family.

I can not recall ever meeting a man more genuine and easy to be around than George. I will never forget the first time I met him, when Dina was in grad school in Chicago and he came to visit. She was so excited to see her Dad and I can think of no better testament to a parent than their adult child being thrilled about seeing them. I remember my anxiety the weekend of my wedding and sitting outside on the porch of the B&B we were all staying at and how George just calmed me down by being himself. He was such a solid source of happiness and strength to everyone in his life. The respect I have for you Dina and Sandy is profound and my heartbreak for you cant be described. I wish I could have been there this weekend to give a little bit of the support youve always given me. I love you dearly. Diedre

George was always so kind with a wonderful sense of humor. I will always appreciate the gift of creativity and artistry he gave to Dina, as I have benefited from her sharing that gift with me. We send our sincerest condolences to Sandy, Dina, Doug, and all their family.

George was the father of my beloved sister-in-law Dina and I know what made Dina the work of art she is has much to do with her father and the respect and love she had for him. Although I did not spend much time with George, the time I did was always comfortable and real...he had a peace and gentleness to him that made you feel good just hanging out talking small talk. I recall his smile and how it lit up his rosey cheeks. I know how much Dina loved him and so my heart hurts for her's and Sandy's now. We will always remember and keep George close - making him a part of all converstaions and thoughts in the future days to come.

Our love, prayers & condolences go out to my Aunt Sandra, Cousins Doug and Dina and all the wonderful people that were a part of my Uncle George's life. My memories of him will always be warm & fuzzy. He was always one of my fun uncles and one of the more easy going mellow fellows of my mom's brothers. We are thankful that he met Sandra and brought Doug and Dina to our lives. May God bless all of you , always. Love, Diane
