Ma was awesome and will always be in my heart and mind. I'm glad she has reunited with Dad. She would have been so pleased with the Memorial celebrations. I think the Memorial Mass and the packed church spoke volumes about my Mother, her family and friendships. The brunch was her kind of event and I know she was with us. Thanks to all of you for honoring her life.

Tootsie and I walked through life together side-by-side, experiencing celebrations and challenges with her remarkable ability to show me the good in every situation. I will miss her guidance and cherish her memory.

How wonderful these past 10 years (it had been 40 long years between visits) to have re-connected with our dear cousin Mary Ellen -- first in Windsor in 1999, again in Adrian, MI in 2004, in Streetsboro Ravenna in 2005 and finally in Charleston, SC in 2007. Mary Ellen maintained the Ryal Women tradition -- she was a loving and strong woman who cared for her husband, raised a terrific son and remained positive to the very end. We can all learn from her. It is reminiscent of Aunt Agnes and Aunt Madeline. Theresa, Bette and of course Sister Joan are also role models for all of us. Mary Ellen was so fortunate to have Patrick & Morgan, Pam & Karl, Patty & Jim and Ed & Rusty and their families nearby and so engaged in her life. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Patrick -- we can't wait to meet Morgan! When you are ready, I will provide the air tickets for both of you to come to Wyoming. Love you all, Mary Ann and Bob Perkins

Aunt Toots, You lost your battle with cancer, but your spirit will live among those whose lives you have touched in such precious ways. Your hospitality and kindness is unforgettable. Rest in peace and give Uncle Ed a big hug from us.

Aunt Mary Ellen was such a special person. She always had a gentle and kind demeanor that never ceased to impact others around her. Our family always looked forward to her Christmas letters because you were able to feel how proud she was of Patrick and how much she loved her family. She will be deeply missed.

When we lived in Detroit, Mary Ellen and Ed did a lot of entertaining, and Dan and I did too. The four of us would often get together on Sunday to share a meal of leftovers. We had many good times and great food. We would declare it Another Sunday Success. We took our first two week cruise with Ed and Mary Ellen. We had such a fantastic time, Mary Ellen and I both cried when we had to come home. She was a good friend and will be greatly missed.

My whole family loved Mary Ellen, Ed, and Patrick too. We have such happy memories of the get togethers at thier home. I am still trying to duplicate Ed's Irish coffee, and I am almost there. But as a mom, my favorite memories of Mary Ellen were sitting on the bleachers inside as well as outdoors watching our boys play soccer. We would sit and chat with each other about all kind of things, and watch our active little guys run around, and then one day they were big boys~ and very skilled. Then there was less talking, and more nail biting, I will personally miss her very much, but I am happy that her battle with cancer is over, and that her and Ed are once again together, entertaining, and awaiting our reunion . We love you Pat!!!

So sorry to hear about your leaving us Mary Ellen. We will always remember the Christmas Party after Midnight Mass and the New Year's Party at the hotel. We will miss your kind letter at the holidays letting us know what is going on in your life. Rest in peace and may your memory be eternal.

While Mary Ellen was always known to be a very kind and soft spoken woman, I always remember her strength and courage when her and my Uncle struggled with cancer. Whenever I hear the song Hero by Mariah Carey, I've always thought of her. When a hero comes along, with the strength to carry on, to cast your fears aside, and you know you can survive... She was a special and courageous lady and I will miss her a lot, at family get togethers and at the dinners we would go to celebrate birthdays. May she now be pain free and happy with my uncle. Thinking of you Patrick -- if you ever need anything, please pick up the phone.
