She graduated from Pierre High School in 1955. She attended and graduated with a teaching degree from Dakota Wesleyan College in Mitchell, SD. Nadine married Paul Solberg at the United Methodist Church in Pierre, SD on June 18, 1960. They became parents to two children: Nancy Lynn and David Paul Solberg. They were further blessed with three grandchildren; Zachary Solberg, Wynn and Gabriella Williams. Nadine taught school in Albert Lea, MN where she met her future husband, Paul. She also taught school at Riggs High School in Pierre SD while Paul worked as an accountant during the construction of the Oahe and Big Bend Dams along the Missouri River. Paul's employment relocated them to Richfield MN. She worked for many years at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis MN. Paul and Nadine later moved to Wixom, Michigan to be near their son, David, and his family. Crafts, sewing, baking, and knitting were among the many talents Nadine was blessed with. She enjoyed working, teaching and talking with children. She was very gentle and patient with children of all ages and she especially enjoyed her grandson Zachary. For many years at Christmas, Nadine baked 2000 to 4000 cookies. These were gifts to relatives and friends. Her sister, Phyllis, called Nadine "the cookie queen." Nadine was an accomplished seamstress. One of her very best creations was designing and sewing her own formal, floor length wedding gown in a very elaborate pattern. This included her wedding veil. She made over 100 chiffon and net rice packages, table decorations and place card holders for her wedding. Nadine suffered from major health issues for many years. She did not complain but remained optimistic throughout her trials in life. She was faithfully supported by many friends and family members, especially Paul, her daughter in law Jennifer, grandson Zachary, sister Phyllis, brother Phil and many caregivers.
