Obituary of Louise Elizabeth Minskey

Louise Elizabeth Minskey was born in Detroit, MI, on April 8th, 1960 to Eugene and Elizabeth Clarice Okraglewski and was one of three children. Louise passed away in Mt Clemens, Michigan on July 11, 2017 at the age of 57. Louise was the beloved wife and companion of Edward Minskey for 32 years and they had 3 children they cherished and raised. Loving mother of Jackie Ingrum, Miranda Minskey, and Gerik Minskey. Sister of Marie Nowacki, Jenny Kantrow, and the late Tonie Guilmette. Louise also leaves behind to mourn her many beloved nieces and nephews: Amy, Shawn, Glainy, Heather, Dawn, Kelly, Amanda, and Kyle. Louise was raised in Madison Hts MI and attended Lamphere High School. She was previously married to the late Russel Ingrum and worked most of her adult life in the restaurant industry. Louise loved working in a career that allowed her to meet people and to interact with others. She was a glowing personality who excelled at connecting with people, always with a smile and kind word to say. Everyone who knew Louise recalls her as one of those special people who you immediately trusted and felt at ease with. Our Louise loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. She frequently went camping with her family throughout her life. She had a fantastic sense of humor and could "roll with it" camping in a tent for 10 days in the freezing rain, or getting dressed up and roasted in the front row of a live show. She was called out as a "Joan Rivers look alike", very appropriate because not only did she look like a very young Joan at the time, but she had that same glowing personality. Her family loved to joke with her and called her "squirrel" due to her fondness of the candies with the same name. In her later years, she was a stay at home Mom which wasnt easy for someone who struggled with health issues most of their adult life. However, throughout, she maintained her sense of humor and was always there for her children. She was a strong shoulder for them to lean on, was proud of them, and deeply loved them. She will be missed by all who knew her as well as her dog and constant companion "Mamaro", who comforted her to the end. Louise wished to be immediately cremated upon her passing and her ashes to be scattered at sea. Family will hold a memorial mass with family and friends on Saturday, Aug 5, 2017 from (10-11) am, led by Father Charles White at St. Marys Queen of Creation 50931 Maria St, New Baltimore, MI 48047. There will be refreshments and light fare immediately following the mass in the church community center (across the street). Memorial contributions may be made in Louise's honor to: American Lung Association (National Office) 55 W Wacker Drive Suite 1150 Chicago, IL 60601 1-800-LUNGUSA http://www.lung.org/ Please leave the family a message of condolence or share a memory in the guest book
