Though Laurie was not our birth mother, she thought of my brother and sister and I as her own children. She was kind and giving and loving. Before her stroke, she would often take me on dates and we would get lunch and go shopping. She loved to shop and was always asking me if I liked her outfits. More than anything (except for my dad of course) she loved to read, especially murder mysteries. In the last few months, my brother and I took care of her while my dad was recovering from a bad fall. We watched the olympics together, especially ice skating, and a LOT of CSI. She would watch jeopardy with me too and gave me a congratulatory smile every time I got a question right. I loved her so much. I’ll miss her like I miss my own mother.

Laurie and I worked together for many years. She had a wonderful smile and was very kind. I will always remember our trips to Frankenmuth. My deepest condolences to Russ and the family. Rest In Peace Laurie.

I didn't know Laurie very long. I instantly knew I linked her! Her life was very difficult, to say the least. It was evident to me that Laurie loved Russ very my , I could see it in her eyes, even though she couldn't say it. It was very sweet witnessing the love inspire of the hardships. I have heard the Dalai Lama said - Even when we have physical hardships we can be very happy - Laurie, it appeared to me that you embodied that phase. I will always remember you for your kindness, strength and most of all for your genuine and affectionate smile. While I will miss seeing your smile on the rare occasions that I visited during your illness it does give me some obscure comforted in imagining you now somewhere smiling without any physical pain or hardship. Laurie was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She lived life to the fullest and had the most radiant smile! She was very loving and caring to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. I had only met Lori a couple of times but I was immediately enchanted by her smile. I remember thinking that she is lucky to have someone like Russ to spend her days with. Hearing of her passing was very upsetting
