Obituary of Richard Main Harnack

Richard M. Harnack, Sr. December 10, 1927 - May 3, 2018 Richard M. Harnack, Sr. (known by many as "Dick"), formerly of White Lake Township and recently residing in Livonia, Michigan, passed away at the age of 90+ years old. He is survived by his three children Richard, Jr., Sharon (Sherry), and Donald (Don); he is also survived by his granddaughter Elaine. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he obtained a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Pittsburgh. After graduation he worked at Westinghouse Electric and then moved to Michigan in 1965 with his family to take a position at National Steel Corporation, Great Lakes Division in Ecorse. He worked at the Great Lakes Division for almost 30 years until he retired in1993 to White Lake Township and then Livonia. All surviving family members still live in Southeast Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday May 24th at St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Livonia at 30900 Six Mile Road. There will be a visitation at 3:30 pm, followed by the memorial service at 4pm.
