She devoted herself to helping others in need, and had a special place in her heart for animals and children. In 2009 Donna established The Joseph Shorkey Memorial Foundation, and raised charitable donations through hosting annual Softball Tournaments and a Bowling Tournament. All the funds that were raised went on to help support pediatric palliative care for terminally ill and critically ill children. A one of a kind soul, Donna loved her family and friends unconditionally. Her fav orite place in the world to be was at home. In her quiet time, she enjoyed reading, staying in touch with relatives and friends on face book and making jewelry. She was particularly drawn to wire wrapping, using copper as her favorite medium.
