Obituary of Donald Lee Johnson
Donald Lee Johnson, Sr., resident of Detroit Michigan formerly of St Louis, MO., passed away July 20, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born June 29, 1937 in St. Louis MO to the late David R. Sr. and Grace Louise Johnson.
He attended St Louis MO public schools. He was a long time parishioner of St Peter Claver. He worked for Chrysler over 25 years in Detroit. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps he also served as a Detroit Reserve Police Officer. He was a member of the knights of Peter Claver. Donald was an amateur Boxer in his teens and enjoyed singing at talent shows in high school. He enjoyed writing poetry, volunteered as a tutor for adults at the Dominica campus in Detroit. Donald loved playing the piano, organ and expanding his musical collection of albums.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 39 years Jacqueline, children Donald, Lynn, Donnell, Ryan (Tina), and Stephan, his 6 grandchildren, his siblings, Sylvia, Joan, Barbara, Patricia, Ralph (Mary) and Kathy (Flennoy), by his many nieces and nephews, and by his extended family and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his brother David and sister Gracie.
The Memorial and Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday August 14, with Family hour at 10 AM and Eucharist at 11 AM followed by a repast service at St. Scholastica Parish 8201 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48219. Please share a memory.
