Obituary of Thomas Alan Bogdanski

Thomas A. Bogdanski, 76, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at University of Michigan Medical Center surrounded by his family. Thomas was born in Detroit, Michigan to Thaddeus and Lillian Bogdanski on November 18, 1941. He married the love of his life Carol Ann Bogdanski (Garstka) on September 10, 1965. They shared 53 years of marriage together. He graduated from Osbourne High School and later served in the United States National Guard. He spent his life working as a master carpenter, partnering and owning his own businesses throughout his lifetime. Thomas was a lover of life and a good time, constantly cracking jokes and playing pranks. He spent many years coaching hockey and mentoring neighborhood youth. He enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was given the ultimate gift of life when he received a lung transplant in June of 2007 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. This gift enabled him to spend the next 11 years surrounded by his pride and joy, his family. He is survived by his wife Carol. Children Michael (Julie), David (Jennifer), and LiAnne Fackler (Darren). Grandchildren James, Cierra, Braelinn, Shelby, Tyler, Logan, Dylan, Chase, Connor, Austin, Jessica, Riley, Kyla. Brothers Richard (Mary) Bogdanski and family, James (Linda) Bogdanski and family, and sisters Marsha (Paul) Bossak and family, Carol (Larry) Burton and family. Memorial services will be held September 18, 2018 at St. Malachy of Warren with Father Joe officiating. 10:30am in state, 11:00am mass. In lieu of flowers donations will be forwarded to the University of Michigan Lung Transplant Team in Thomass honor.
