I only just learned about Mr.Bulka's passing today. He was a special, smart and very clever man. He was my high school counselor at Detroit Henry Ford . He was a great motivator and teacher. He was very good at finding ways to motivate students. He used different techniques with different students. This ranged from positive unconditional regard to reversed psychology. He used reversed psychology with me. He got me to reach many of my goals at school using this philosophy. I went on a high school mission to prove him wrong. My grades improved and I played high school tennis. I made the all westside tennis team etc. I only learned about his strategy for me from our locker room attendant Mr Sandy. I did not think he believed in me. Sandy told me,after school Mr.Bulka would swim and talk to him. His number one topic was me and how proud of me he was. Then I figured it out. I came back a few years later to say thank you and let him know I was on my way to bigger and better things. With the help of Mr.Bulka and a few others people, I have achieved many things like three college degrees etc. Thank you Mr. Bulka .You are loved and missed. Rest in peace.
