Obituary of Joan Wolf
Joan Wolf, 81, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2019. Joan was a long time resident of Cape May, New Jersey, and also the Detroit Metropolitan Area. A mother of three, she worked as a police dispatcher for the City of Cape May, volunteered as an EMT for the local Rescue Squad, and was a clerical worker for the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority. She was an accomplish artist and published author, best known for her talents as a World Champion woodcarver, focusing on her love of shore birds. She served as a world-class carving competition judge, and taught wood carving, inspiring and mentoring many. Her passion for the seashore was reflected in her work. Joan was the beloved mother of Terri Wolak-Cannell (Doug), Ric Wolak (Andrea) and John Wolak, grandmother to Christofer, Sofia, Charlie and Tessa. She was predeceased by her father John Stubbs, mother Beatrice Stubbs and sister Jean Bartleson.
