Obituary of Gregory Allan Forest
On July 15, 2019 Heaven received another angel, Gregory Allan Forest (Gerg), age 66. Greg was born on April 19, 1953 in Detroit, MI. He grew up in Lincoln Park and graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1971. He spent his last 20 years in Shelby Township, MI with his wife, Kim, and their fur babies.
Greg was a very loving, kind, forgiving, and generous husband, father, son, brother, and friend; and in return was loved by many. He was guided by his love of life, and easily made strangers friends with his genuine interest in people's stories, and sharing his life stories with others. His charm, sense of humor, eclectic life experiences, and free spirit will be missed by all those that he touched.
Greg felt strongly about helping the down-trodden, the homeless, and the less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation in his name to Motown Soup would fill his heart and soul with joy. (www.motownsoup.com) To donate, please call 586-994-9012 for credit card donations or send a check to Motown Soup, 45160 Van Dyke, Utica, MI 48317.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Anne Renard; three children: Matthew (Katiria Vasquez and AJ), Justina, and Jason; mother, Marie Forest, siblings: Michael (Pam Haupt), Jill Stephan (Andy), Joy Kaminski (John), Julie Catka (Tom Dong), and Janis Cox (Rob). Greg was loved by many including passed and present Aunts, Uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces and nephews, and his fur babies, Chester and Sasha. Greg was predeceased by his father, Michael Forest, brother-in-law Marty Catka, and mother-in-law, Audrey Renard.
Please feel free to share your memory below. At Greg's request a traditional service will not be held, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
