Obituary of Michiko Jaquette

Michiko Jaquette January 19, 1931 - September 23, 2019 Our beautiful mother, Michiko Jaquette, died peacefully on September 23, 2019 at her home in Westland after a long struggle with Parkinsons disease. Michi was born January 19, 1931, in Tokyo, Japan. She thoroughly loved bowling and for many years looked forward to her weekly bowling league. She also loved basketball and was a huge Detroit Pistons fan. She would never miss a game. In 1952, Michiko married the love of her life, John Jaquette. They met in Tokyo, Japan where he was stationed in the Army. Michi raised two children, Jeanne and Lia and was the proud grandma of two grandchildren, Cameron and Carli. Michi was preceded in death by her mother Toku; father Sojiro; sisters Tomoko and Yoshie; brothers Hiroshi, Masaru, and Susumu. She is survived by her husband John; her sisters, Chieko, Suzuko, and Aiko; her brother, Masaki; daughters, Jeanne (Len) Jaquette and Lia Asztalos; grandchildren, Cameron and Carli Asztalos; and a number of other relatives and close friends. A memorial service immediately followed by a luncheon will be held for family members and friends at Laurel Manor in Livonia on Saturday October 5th from 11-3 PM.
