Obituary of Margaret Anne Burke
Margaret Anne Burke died peacefully at Bloomfield Orchard Villa in West Bloomfield, MI on October 24, 2019 at the age of 79.
She was born April 17, 1940 in Jackson, MI to Dorothy Geiger and Robert F. Button and Michigan remained her life-long home. While working as a switchboard operator for General Motors in the 1960's, she met her future husband, Harry Burrows Burke. The two were married on September 8, 1962 in Detroit.
Anne was a loving and devoted homemaker to her three children Denise (and her husband Gary), James (and his wife Jennifer) and DeAnne and seven grandchildren: Emma, Olivia, Davis, Trevor, Jamison, Graham and Phoebe.
While raising her family, she worked as a typist in a variety of jobs, and in 1976 started her own home business specializing in court depositions. Beginning in 2000, she worked at the Farmington Hills Public Library for more than a decade.
Throughout her life she loved reading, RVing, playing bridge and golf and spending time with family and friends.
Anne is survived by her brothers Robert (and his wife Gloria) and John (and his wife Joanne).
