Obituary of Dorothy A Smytka
Dorothy Ann Smytka (nee Cole)
A devout Catholic, peacefully returned to the Lord on December 6, 2019 at the age of 86 in the care of her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond. Dorothy was a long-time resident of Warren. She worked as an executive assistant for many years and enjoyed sewing, gardening, listening to the radio, trying new recipes, keeping up with current events, traveling, and socializing with her many dear friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughters Anne (Robert) Annan, Jane (Thomas) Kropf, Nancy Smytka, and Mary Ellen (Mark) Paczkowski. Loving grandmother of Jason (Valerie), Kevin (Nakia), Allison (Jordan), Matthew, Bradley, Benjamin, and Max. Great-grandmother of Jaylynn, Natalie, and Troy. Also survived by her dear siblings: Robert (Geri), Margaret Santavy, Charles (Mary-Ann), Raymond (Marcia), sister-in-laws: Marcia Cole and Millie Miller, brother-in-law James Leighton, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Cremation is being arranged through Cremation Society of Michigan. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Dorothys life in the Spring of 2020.
Donations may be made in Dorothys name to Capuchin Soup Kitchen and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
