Obituary of Grace J. Stisko

Grace Joan Stisko, 91, of Northville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021, at her home in Plymouth, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church 10101 Ann Arbor Road, Plymouth, Michigan on Friday, November 19 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mark Fuller of Trinity Church and Pastor Josh Speyers of Abundant Mercy Church co-officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be at Trinity Church on the same day from 9:00-11:00 am. A luncheon will be served at Trinity Church immediately following the service.

 

Grace was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, to William and Kathleen Beauchamp on July 10, 1930. She went to high school at Northville High School and graduated in 1948. After graduation, Grace worked at Burroughs in Plymouth. She earned a license in cosmetology and worked as a beautician during the 1960s. After many years of managing a home and raising her two daughters, she went to work in the fabric and sewing department at Sears in 12 Oaks Mall, Novi. Later, she spent many years working in the food service program and ultimately retiring from the Northville School District in 1990. Grace enjoyed sewing, crafts, and cooking. She made lifelong friends through each new phase of her life.

 

Grace is survived by her daughters, Susan Murphy (John) of Plymouth and Julie Beamish (Ed) of Livonia, her grandchildren, Patrick Murphy, Olivia Grubke (Jared), Joseph Murphy, Colin Murphy, Lara Murphy, Rylee Beamish, Evan Beamish, Chase Beamish, and her great-grandson Mason Grubke. She is also survived by her sister Bernice Achterberg of California. She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Walter Richard (Dick) Stisko, and her siblings William Beauchamp (Florence), John Beauchamp, Marion Moase (Sidney), Raymond Beauchamp, Doris Pung.

In addition, the family would like to thank the compassionate care given by the staff of Angela Hospice of Livonia to our Mom/Nana in her final months.
