I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Bob for many years at Channel 7. Any caller that was fortunate to have Bob take their call received the most caring, knowledgeable assistance. He deeply cared for everyone and did his very best to help people, often using his personal resources. Bob will be missed, may he rest in peace, Dorothy please take care of yourself Evelyn Stern

Dorothy and family, "Bene" as I affectionately called him was one in a million! I still share stories of his "very special" personality with my family. Golfing with him and Dorothy on Saturdays was such a treat! Any time you were in his presence, there was smile and true respect for this man who no matter what his physical issues were, he never stopped moving. I remember Murrin and I met him for lunch a few years ago and we were scolding him because he had parked in the back. Only Murrin and I seem to be aware of his physical condition because he certainly was not. Bob Benedict lived life on his terms. Dorothy I much admired your husband and how much he adored you!

We worked with Bob for many years at MESC. He was a sincere, dedicated civil servant who was always a pleasure to work with. We were impressed that despite health challenges he continued to do volunteer work in his retirement years. He worked with us on a Habitat for Humanity home building project in Detroit, and lent his efforts to our State Retirees organization. We will remember him as "one of the good guys."
