Obituary of Barbara Louise Kearney

Barbara L. (Halaburda) Kearney, age 83 of Clinton Township, passed away on December 17, 2021, at Ascension Hospital. Barbara was the loving wife for 59 years to the late Gerald P. Kearney, Jr.  Born and raised in Detroit she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sally Halaburda.  Barbara was a graduate of Dominic High School.  She worked at the Social Security Administration in Detroit where she met our dad, the love of her life.  She was both kind and compassionate, and devoted to her family.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed the morning crosswords puzzles with our dad.  More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her children.  As her grandchildren grew, she had become one of their top cheerleaders, whether it was attending baseball games, cheerleading competitions, or dance recitals she enjoyed being their Nana.

Barbara was the mother of Shawn, Brian (Michele) and Shannon (Doug Drouillard); grandmother of Emily (Trevor Warner), Sarah (Ryan Swisher), Paige (Dan Brazitis), Jillian, Douglas, Alexis, Alivia, and Abbey; great-grandmother of Teagan and Madelyn and 2 more great granddaughters arriving in 2022.

A memorial mass will be held in her honor on Monday, December 27, 2021, 11:00am at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Avenue, Rochester
